A hidden gem in Penn Hills
We are a non-denominational, faith-based, non-profit 501c3 that exists to utilize the Barclay Building of Hebron Church as a SAFE space within the community where we can take a holistic approach to caring for our community.
We aim to address and overcome obstacles and disparities in our community to ensure everyone has equal opportunities for overall well-being and community health.
Community change happens through the action and collaboration of each individual. We want to be responsive and flexible to the unique and present needs/ concerns of our community therefore utilize a combination of opportunities to engage and serve our community: activities, programs, & events.

Jennifer Balkey,
Executive Director
Jen Balkey, originally from the Chicago
area, Jen relocated to Pittsburgh in 2001 to pursue her studies at the University of Pittsburgh, earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2005 and a Master of Occupational Therapy in 2007. She has demonstrated leadership skills from a young age, gaining experience in teaching swim lessons, lifeguarding, and managing a camp kitchen.

Tracy Thorpe-Scott
President

Jill Scott
Treasurer
Jill - with her husband and 2 boys have been Penn Hills residents since 2012. Her boys are active in Penn Hills School activities and sports. She runs her own business supporting professional speakers while also volunteering in the community. She's been involved in the PH Elementary PTO since 2018, and has served as President since 2020. She's also been active in Linton's PTA since Fall 2023. As a member of Hebron Church since 2015, Jill has served in Children's ministry, Family Ministry and as an Elder since 2020.
Chuck Trenz
Vice President
Chuck was born and raised in Penn Hills and now is the funeral director of family business, Trenz Funeral Home- a long standing business of Penn Hills. Chuck is a member of Hebron Church- currently serving as an elder. Chuck is passionate about caring for people and serving the community any way he can - while still enjoying time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Loretta Worsham
Secretary
Loretta and her family initially moved to Oakmont in 1995 and has been involved in various community organizations- participating as well as various leadership roles. Loretta is presently on the Board of the Oakmont Garden Club, coach for Academic Quiz Team at Trinity Christian School, and co-director of Joyful Twirlers. She is passionate about being involved and serving her community with her many gifts and talents.
Jackie Blakey-Tate
Parliamentarian
Jackie is passionate about seeing improvement in our community and is engaged in seeing that happen. Jackie has an extensive history working with Pittsburgh Public Schools and now serves on the Penn Hills School Board. She is a resident of over 15 years and wants to see our youth thrive as well as expand opportunities to serve our seniors.

Henry Knapp
Ex-Officio
Came to Hebron Church as co-pastor in 2019 and transitioned to Senior Pastor in 2021. Henry has a passion for theological history, outdoors, reading, traveling, family time, and cheering on all Pittsburgh sport teams.
